Certificate Programs

Christ Church Academy provides biblical and theological training to leaders and learners. Students may enroll in one of our several non-degree certificate programs or simply enroll in courses that suit their interests. Our certificate programs include:

Introductory:
The introductory certificates are designed for those who want to build a solid foundation of biblical and theological knowledge. This is a 15 hour program that includes:

  • Old Testament Survey (3 hrs)
  • New Testament Survey (3 hrs)
  • Introduction to Christian Doctrine (3 hrs)
  • Introduction to Church History (3 hrs)
  • Elective Course (3 hrs)*

Intermediate:
The intermediate certificates are designed for those who want to go beyond the basics and be better equipped at teaching God's word. This is a 21 hour program that includes:

  • OT Survey (3 hrs)
  • NT Survey (3 hrs)
  • Introduction to Christian Doctrine (3 hrs)
  • Introduction to Church History (3 hrs)
  • Biblical Studies Course (3 hrs)**
  • Theological Studies Course (3 hrs)**
  • Elective Course (3 hrs)*

Advanced:
The advanced certificates are designed for those who not only want to teach but also want to gain greater knowledge and experience in pastoral minstry. This is a 30 hour program that includes:

  • OT Survey (3 hrs)
  • NT Survey (3 hrs)
  • Introduction to Christian Doctrine (3 hrs)
  • Introduction to Church History (3 hrs)
  • Biblical Studies Course (3 hrs)**
  • Theological Studies Course (3 hrs)**
  • Hermenutics (3 hrs)
  • Introduction to Christian Ministry (3 hrs)
  • Pastoral Counseling (3 hrs)
  • Elective Course (3 hrs)*

* Students are required to take at least one Elective Course for each certificate program. Elective courses include any of the courses that the Seminary is offering in addition to the specifically required courses of each particular certificate.

** The Biblical and Theological Studies Courses deal with a particular area of biblical or theological study. Our Biblical Studies Courses may include: The Gospel of John, Genesis, The Pastoral Epistles, etc. Our Theological Studies Courses may include: The Doctrines of Grace, The Doctrine of God, The Holy Spirit, etc.
